A New Hobby!
Heyo, Labradoria! Daniel here, up late listening to some musical theatre! It has spung to my mind through listening to such masterpieces as "Little Shop of Horrors," "Camelot," "Pippin," "Man of La Mancha," and "Hadestown" that though I have written some one act plays I may or may not attempt to publish, that I have never tried writing lyrics to a song before. This I took a shot at, hammering away at lyrics that mingle favorably with the tune of the "March of the British Grenadiers," and, after maybe an hour of intensive hairpulling, wrote something independent of the lyrics but was still passably engaging, before deciding to stick to non-song-affiliated rhyming and free verse poetry, something I had a little more experience in. This was actually a lot of fun, and I have decided it might be fun to take a shot at a poetry book sometime in conjunction with my board games and books! Naturally, however, I must hone my craft. It will take a long time, and some painstaking work and practice, of course, before I show any of my pieces to anyone, but it may be a fun new activity which I may one day bring to market!
